Who writes what
Every article is written or edited by one of our three named editors, and the author page on this site lists what that person covers. Freelance contributions are edited in-house and published under a named editor.
How we handle products
Our testing team orders the products we feature and tests them hands-on at our Rotterdam bench. We pay for the items ourselves. Where a product is covered as part of a workflow rather than as a standalone review, the article says so and the evidence is the timing log and the packing photographs, not a score.
Scoring
All scores use a five-point scale: 5 / 5 excellent, 4 / 5 good, 3 / 5 adequate, 2 / 5 poor, 1 / 5 very poor. Hands-on product scores run from 4.0 to 5.0. We do not accept payment for a score, a placement, or a rewritten verdict.
Sources and freshness
Supplier specifications are checked against the delivered item wherever we can measure it. Cards show the month of the last test or retest. Comparison tables list the measurement date next to each column so an older figure is visible as older.
What we do not do
We do not publish rumour as fact, we do not quote a supplier's ten-point score without converting it to our five-point scale, and we do not let an advertiser read an article before publication.
